Electronic records

In 1997 a Working Group was set up with the mandate to "explore the size and the typology of the electronic documents at CERN, [and] their current status, and prepare recommendations for an archiving policy to preserve their historical and economical value in future.

In March 2000 it reported to the Archive Committee:

• Fourth Report to the Archive Committee

Based on its recommendations, a new Working Group was set up in May 2000 with the mandate to "produce functional solutions for electronic archiving that will enable CERN to implement long-term systems and strategies to manage its electronic records."

This group gave its final report in summer 2001.
