The Management Information Department, coming from the Office and Services of the Director-General, was formed in 1982. Its reponsibilities were divided into three groups :

  • Forecasts and Statisitics group: Its role consisted in preparing the Organization's budget, calculating the cost variation indices and the contributions, and co-ordinating the production of the corresponding documents for submission to the Finance Committee
  • The Data Processing Group: Its role consisted in devoloping the computerization of administrative data.
  • Special Tasks Group: Its role consisted in drawing up the rules for the use of industrial support and putting them into operation.
In 1986 MI Department was dissolved. The Forecast and Statistics, and Special Tasks Groups went to Finance Division, while the Data Processing Group went to the Office and Services of the Director-General.
